The XXII International Conference of the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE), scheduled for November 2024 in Alicante, will be attended by more than 100 participants from science and technology parks from all over Spain. This event will also bring together experts involved in research and development projects funded by the Horizon Europe program, along with regional development agencies associated with EURADA. The conference is presented as a unique opportunity to strengthen essential connections in the valorization of knowledge and regional development.
The event will begin with an opening ceremony led by the Rector of the University of Alicante, the Regional Minister of Innovation of the Generalitat Valenciana and the President of APTE. This will be followed by a keynote speech by a senior representative of the European Commission on the initiatives of the European Union aimed at promoting the valorization of knowledge. One of the highlights of the program is a round table focused on the impact of the Single Market on the valorization of knowledge.
Throughout Thursday, November 21, experiences and case studies on best practices in the valorization of knowledge will be shared, presented by experts leading leading leading European projects. The event will conclude with an award ceremony for Spanish Science Parks, the presentation of the final conclusions by the Regional Development Agency IVACE+I, as well as a visit to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). In addition, as satellite events, internal meetings and networking activities will be held on November 19 and 20, and on November 22 a practical workshop on how to facilitate co-creation between citizens and researchers will be organized for regional development experts and EURADA members.

The Alicante Science Park is the main innovation center in the province; it has 45 companies employing more than 500 full-time researchers and investing more than 10 million euros annually in R&D. It is an initiative of the University of Alicante with strong support from the Generalitat Valenciana.
